Privacy Policy
The short version: GlowBop runs on your computer. You can turn off our anonymous usage stats any time, and we never see who you are.

The app
GlowBop runs on your own computer and talks to your lights over your home network. Your music, light setups, saved looks, photos and logos stay on your computer. We don't run accounts or ads in the app.
Anonymous usage stats
To make GlowBop better for you, the app shares anonymous usage stats with us through PostHog (hosted in the US): which pages and keys get used, how long a visit lasts, your screen type (computer, tablet or phone), Home or Pro, how many light sets you have, and how you arrange your screens. Each install gets a random ID that isn't tied to your name, email or license. We never receive your songs, anything you type, or your light or network names, and the app tells PostHog not to look up your location (PostHog still sees an IP address, like any web request). You can turn it off any time in SETUP > Help make GlowBop better, and it switches off on every screen in your house.
Your license key
To unlock GlowBop, the app sends your license key and your computer's name to Polar to check it, and re-checks about twice a day. This is how we know a key is valid; nothing else about your computer is sent.
Song lookup
If you add your own free Last.fm or GetSongBPM keys, GlowBop sends the name and artist of the song playing to those services to look up its genre and tempo. You can leave the keys blank to turn this off.
Music and sports
When you play music through GlowBop, it uses YouTube, and YouTube's privacy policy applies. Scoreboard features fetch public scores from sports feeds; they don't receive anything about you.
Buying
When you buy, Polar (our Merchant of Record) and its payment provider Stripe handle your name, email and payment details under their own privacy policies. We receive your name, email and what you bought so we can support you. We never see your full card number.
This website
glowbop.com is hosted by GitHub Pages and loads fonts from Google Fonts, so those services see your IP address like any website visit. We don't use tracking cookies. To learn which page layout helps people find the live demo, the home, Features and Pro pages show one of eight versions (each leads with a different feature) and count, anonymously, which version you saw and whether you opened the demo. Those counts go to PostHog with a random number kept on your device: no name, no email, no location. Graham's page at glowbop.com/graham counts visits the same way: that a visit happened, the site or app it came from (for example TikTok), your screen type, and which link you tapped.
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you. We don't sell or share email addresses. Ask us any time and we'll delete your messages.
Children
GlowBop is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
